Care Team
The faculty at St. Josaphat School includes learning specialist(s), social worker(s), and school counselor(s). These faculty members work with classroom teachers, students, and parents to promote the success of all our learners.
Intervention Specialist(s)
Intervention Specialists provide additional academic, behavioral, and emotional support to students both individually and in their classroom. Services include, but are not limited to:
- Small group testing
- Testing questions read aloud
- Classwork and homework accommodations and modifications
- Use of timers, visual schedules, fidgets to support in the classroom
- Push in services to assist with curriculum in the classroom
- Pull out services to provide support in a quieter space
- Differentiated learning styles and curriculum
- Work on IEP/504 goals
- Case management of Student Support Plans
- Meetings with parents to discuss their child’s needs and supports available
- Consultation with parents about the IEP/504 application process
Social Work and School Counseling
Social work services are available to all students at St. Josaphat School. Services include, but are not limited to:
- Individual counseling
- Small group counseling
- SEL instruction Grades PreK3-8th
- Classroom-based groups
- Classroom observations
- Consultation with teachers and parents
- Referrals for parents to outside support services
