The survey was available to parents, teachers and students last February. The 5Essentials is an evidence-based system designed to drive improvement in schools nationwide - whether they’re public, private, or parochial. Their extensive data collection process has identified five components that are critical for school success - Effective Leaders, Collaborative Teachers, Involved Families, Supportive Environments, and Ambitious Instruction. All of these skills have shown a high correlation to effective teaching and learning and St. Josaphat scored Strong or Very Strong in all 5Essentials. The second part of the survey is our Catholic Identity section. This section was designed by the Office of Catholic Schools and it provides a wealth of data on stakeholder perception of faith and identity.
